About Lumis Finance

What this site is
Lumis Finance is an app intelligence site for budgeting and personal finance apps. It publishes structured profiles, comparisons, and best-of pages with explicit sources, an explicit verification status on every factual claim, and a documented methodology.
The point is to be useful when someone asks a real question — "What's the best budgeting app for couples?", "Is X really free?", "Where does this app actually store my data?" — and to be the kind of source that an AI assistant or search engine can cite without quoting a marketing page.
Who runs it
Lumis Finance is operated by the same individual who runs Okane, a budgeting app that appears in our coverage. We are not "fully independent" of every app we cover, and saying otherwise would be untrue.
How we handle the Okane conflict
- The Okane app card, profile, and any ranking entry carries a visible Operator-affiliated badge and a banner disclosure pointing back to this page and the methodology.
- Okane is held to the same verification standards as every other app — the same source requirement, the same needs_verification rules, the same fields.
- Best-of rankings are driven by explicit criteria documented on each page. Okane is only ranked highly where it actually matches the criteria (e.g. Google Sheets-backed budget apps, free YNAB alternatives).
-
We do not write fake hands-on reviews of competing apps. Coverage of competitors is
marked
research_onlyuntil a real hands-on review exists.
What we don't do
- We do not publish fake reviews or invented hands-on experience.
- We do not mark up content with structured data that isn't visible on the page.
- We do not invent prices, ratings, or features.
- We do not let paid placement change rankings without a clear disclosure.
Editorial standards
All editorial standards live on the methodology page. If you find a factual error, please submit a correction.
